The first great passion is Deceit, the second is Greed, and the third is Anger—the fourth great passion is Pride.
I know Pride is a passion; it is my correction or Karma. Pride is insecurity and fear turned outward in an act of defiance. For me, it was all about survival. I was so ashamed of my humble beginnings that I set about to prove to the world that I did not need anybody. I was strong, independent, and braver than most. Through my foolish Pride, I drove others away. I was a lonely and self-absorbed individual crying out for love and devotion. Life presented me with many humbling experiences. My inner work allowed me to see the Pride and its self-destructive nature. Through my work, which has become my Karma, I have learned to relinquish shame and step past the Maya (the illusion). Pride is a false sense of self-acceptance. Be humble and accept yourself.
Awareness and the ability to listen allow us to work through the four great passions.
If we look deep enough, we find other people in each of us. Souls always speak to souls. We need to be aware and listen.
According to Karma, our work here on earth is to transcend all four great passions, which are the root cause of all our so-called problems. All four play a part in our lives. One will be stronger than the others, and it will be our lesson to learn in this lifetime. As we lessen the intensity of a passion through awareness, our aura softens, and we take on a new, softer coloration as we change. The practice of karma yoga is one way to soften the coloration. Karma teaches that with the proper work, the coloration of your aura will improve about every twelve years, with significant coloration changes happening between the ages of 29 ½ to 32, 50 to 52 ½, or 88 1/2 to 91. These cycles can begin 1 1/2 years earlier and thus end 1 ½ years sooner.
The best advice I can give for softening the coloration of your aura is to stay young at heart as you grow up. Remain open and flexible to change. Don’t let yourself get rigid and cynical. Instill self-discipline, which means manifesting specific actions and inhibiting other actions.
Replace the four great passions with honesty, generosity, kindness, and humility, and you will overcome the four great passions and work through your Karma. It takes work, and that is Karma. We must work daily to tap into our souls and find the peace and serenity we all desire.
The soul only wishes to know its pure divine self. Our human cravings and desires bring about discontent and suffering. As long as we are caught up in the cycle of discontent, we can never work through our Karma and find balance and peace.
In my book, How to Master Karma, you can use your birthdate to look up which of the four great passions is the work you are called upon to do to work through your Karma to discover a life of balanced prosperity. The book can be found on Amazon or http://www.doctorlynn.com
