I was thrilled when I received this honor. I volunteer to give back to the USO because I used it in the ’70s and 80’s when my husband served in the military during Viet Nam and other conflicts. They gave me support and comfort while we were overseas. You do not have to reimburse these hours but I want to pay it forward and honor the current active duty who protect our country every moment of the year.
Yes, I am busy as a contributor on the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, and with 9 jobs there is always time to give back. My other volunteer work brings comfort to children in foster care, nurturing the families of homeless, and listening to women who have been abused, and sharing with the people at The Smith Center of the Performing Arts Theatre.
I give time to the Kiwanis, Veterans of Foreign Wars and other service organizations too. It feels good to be around people who care about others and take pleasure in the weekly adventures of kindness.
Caring and Sharing are part of my DNA. Everyone can take advantage of giving your time and talents to others.
